“America’s Greatest Rhone Wines” by Pierre DuMont
Piedmont Press, May 2022

“Interestingly, this Syrah is blended with 16% Graciano a combination I have never seen before. A dynamite effort, the saturated, opaque, purple colored WCS Syrah has aromas of bacon fat, mocha, and licorice. This full-bodied, unctuously textured, rich, exuberant super-endowed Syrah is delicious right now and promises to age gracefully for 10 -12 years.”

One of our favorite wines of the vintage, our 2018 WCS Syrah started out as a co-ferment with a small amount of Graciano. The winemaking team set those barrels aside when they noted their inky dark color coupled with some of the most complex and meaty flavors of all the Syrah lots with which they were working in 2018.

It was a great call as it went on to receive our highest rating of any Jada wine from the 2018 vintage (97 pts, Jeb Dunnuck).

Congrats to Booker, Epoch, Alto Colina, and Austin Hope who were also included in this article on America’s best Rhones. It’s great to see Paso continue to show its muscle as one of the premiere Rhone regions outside of the Rhone Valley.
