2007 Jersey Girl - Sold Out100% Estate Syrah313 cases produced The Syrah planting, at 14 acres, is one of the largest blocks on the property and covers a variety of aspects and soil depths. As a result, the grapes were harvested over five picks spanning roughly two weeks. The 06 "Jersey Girl" is a selection of barrels from each of these picks designed to offer up subtle nuances and add to the overall intrigue of the wine. The grapes were hand harvested, de-stemmed and gravity fed to 1.5 ton and 3 ton open top fermenters. Each lot then underwent an extensive pre-fermentation cold soak. Over the next three weeks the lots were fermented separately utilizing only punch down for cap management. Upon dryness the lots were gently basket pressed and aged in barrel for roughly six months prior to blending. The wines were then returned to barrel for an additional 12 months prior to bottling unfined and unfiltered in May 2009. $43.00 SOLD OUT |
